What is Infant Swimming Resource?

The NAC is proud to be partnering with Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) to offer ISR lessons at the indoor pool! ISR is for infants and children 6 months-6 years & is the product of over 50 years of on-going development in the area of aquatic survival.

ISR’s primary focus is to teach your child to become a productive swimmer, or floater, in any depth of water. ISR will greatly increase your child’s chance of surviving an aquatic accident, even fully clothed! Our core conviction is that the child is the most important part of a drowning prevention strategy and our over 300,000 ISR graduates and 800 documented survival stories are proof that children can save themselves.

5 Facts About Infant Swimming Resource (ISR):

  1. Founded in 1966 by Dr. Harvey Barnett, ISR is now the global leader in the industry it pioneered: survival swimming lessons for infants and young children.
  2. The ISR Self-Rescue® instruction students receive today is the product of over 45 years of research and achieves unparalleled results.
  3. To date, they delivered more than 8,000,000 ISR Self-Rescue® lessons.
  4. ISR has saved more than 800 lives of young children in swim emergencies!
  5. In general, children ages 6 months to 1 year learn the ISR Self-Rescue® skill of rolling onto their backs to float, rest and breathe. They learn to maintain this position until help arrives.
