This week’s #TeamTuesday feature team member is Chris Lanctot! Chris, Director of Rock Starz All Stars, has a 21 year history of coaching competitive cheer. 15 of her 21 coaching years have been spent directing cheer programs such as REC and All Star. After winning multiple national titles in REC cheerleading, Chris started Rock Starz with just one All-Star team. Seven years later, the program has grown to house athletes ages 3-18, on 9 teams ranging from Levels 1-5 and a special needs team, the Shining Starz.

Get to know Chris!

  1. What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is watching the confidence grow in an athlete, whether it’s attaining a new skill, mastering something they have been struggling with, or hitting a great routine on the floor. I also love watching the teams become a bonded cohesive unit where together they can reach goals & accomplish anything!

  1.  What is something most people don’t know about you?

I don’t like any fruit pies or cooked fruit. I’m a chocolate lover!

  1. What is the best gift you’ve ever received?

During Spring Break, my daughter and her Labrador drove all night from Florida to surprise us and later that week her new husband flew in to visit too. Having a house of 7, with all the kids home is the best gift. It doesn’t happen often enough!

  1. What are four things you can’t live without?

Diet coke big gulp from 7-11, workouts, coffee and hairspray.

  1. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

The Four Seasons Resort in Bora Bora, an island in French Polynesia.

  1. What is your proudest accomplishment?

Hands down, my kids! All four are incredible. They have big hearts and all work hard on whatever they are doing. Brittany, Gregory and Brooke are in their twenties and Murphy is 10, yet they all support each other and are close.

  1. If you could be any animal for a day, what would you be?
I wouldn’t mind  being a dog for a day. Napping, playing and relaxing for a day sounds perfect! In our house, our dogs have always gotten a ton of love and attention. Not to mention they rule the couch!
