The Summer season is quickly approaching, which means pool season is right around the corner. The sooner the Summer Season is coming it is good to educate yourself and your children on the importance of water safety. Read over the following tips and tricks to ensure that you have a safe and fun summer!

Never Swim Alone

Whether it is a lifeguard or a parent within arms reach there should always be someone supervising and watching over a swimmer. At Escape, the NACs outdoor pool resort, there are multiple pools, slides, and splashpads. For each area we have dedicated and trained lifeguards supervising and watching everybody in that designated spot.

Wear a Life Jacket

If your child hasn’t taken swim lessons and isn’t a strong swimmer they should be wearing U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket. Once the outdoor pool resort opens at the NAC children will be required to take a swim test. Those who pass will be given a band as a symbol to our life guards that they are ok to swim. If they haven’t passed they will have to wear a life jacket that is U.S. Coast Guard-approved.

Following Pool Rules

At every pool there are always general safety rules that everyone must follow including no running around the pool, no pushing or dunking someone in the pool, and never diving in a pool that’s not at least 9 feet deep. If there is no visible depth posted, don’t dive! At the NAC outdoor resort we have specific rules for each pool we have since they are each designated for a certain group of people. All together we have our body slide, tube slide, zero entry family pool, and our adult pool with hot tub.
