HYROX Training FAQ

HYROX is an international fitness race designed to challenge both strength and endurance through a consistent, standardized indoor format. Unlike obstacle course races, every HYROX event around the world follows the same structure, allowing athletes to accurately track progress and performance.

Each race consists of eight 1-kilometer runs, each followed by a functional workout station. While participants cover a total of 8 kilometers, the race incorporates a variety of demanding exercises, including sled pushes, sled pulls, rowing, burpee broad jumps, and sandbag lunges. This unique combination of cardiovascular endurance, functional strength, and mental resilience makes HYROX one of the most comprehensive and challenging fitness events in the industry.

A HYROX class combines running with functional workout stations to build strength, endurance, and power. Classes often follow the HYROX race format but may be scaled for time or fitness level, featuring circuit-style training with added mobility or core work.

Workout Stations: Ski Erg, Sled Push, Sled Pull, Burpee Broad Jumps, Rowing, Farmer’s Carry, Sandbag Walking Lunges, Wall Balls

Equipment Used: Ski Erg machine, sleds & pull ropes, rowing machine, kettlebells, sandbags, medicine balls

Reservations open 24 hours in advance and are required for all HYROX classes. Reserve your spot through the NAC app under the Studio Fitness schedule.

Please note: All HYROX classes are held at our dedicated training facility, Newtown Performance Institute, located at 114 Pheasant Run, Newtown, PA.
