#TeamTuesday – Liza Eden

How well do you know the NAC Youth Programs staff? Each week we will be highlighting a different instructor, coordinator, or manager from the youth programs department to help you get to know our team! Want to nominate your favorite youth programs instructor? Fill out the form below!

This week’s #TeamTuesday feature team member is Liza Eden! Liza began working at Program Desk in October of 2015.  Her affiliation with the NAC began as a member so she has a unique, dual perspective – as a member and now as a staff member. Liza’s kids keep her busy, particularly with their endless array of activities. When not impersonating a taxi driver, Liza dabbles in interior design.

  1. What is your favorite part of your job?

Working at the Program Desk is incredibly social and works well with my personality. I love interacting with our NAC members and visitors to help them in their pursuit of a healthy lifestyle for themselves and their families. Each NAC day I’m presented with new situations which in turn, keeps things varied and interesting.

  1.  What fruit best describes your personality?

Passion fruit would most accurately correlate with my personality.  I’m passionate and energetic in life, particularly about fitness and our NAC community.  Laughter, in particular, just makes life better.

  1. What 3 things would you want if you were stranded on a deserted island?

Hmmm, 3 things on a deserted island…only 3?!  A hammock, a library filled with books and sunscreen!

  1. What is something most people don’t know about you?

Most people probably aren’t aware that I recently moved into the area from overseas. Our family lived in Poland for two years and were transferred to Malaysia for three years thereafter. What a great experience it was for my kids! They have an interesting lens from which they view the world, thanks to their dad’s employment.

  1. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Ice cream isn’t a particular favorite of mine…but peanut butter cups…now we’re onto something!  If forced to eat ice cream, it would have to be peanut butter chocolate, doused with fudge sauce!

  1. What is your proudest accomplishment?

Raising my kids is undoubtedly my finest achievement and most challenging endeavor!  I’ve raised six kids: four boys (21, 20, 18, 13) and twin girls (11).  The oldest two are in college, with #3 on the verge of graduation this year. Three more to go!

  1. What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?

Spare time? Please define this?! Ha ha! When not working/exercising at the NAC, I can be found with my nose in a book, traveling/camping (think s’mores) with my kids, or listening to music/dancing.
