Meet Laura Miller, ACE Certified Personal Trainer.

We are so excited to have Laura join our team! Laura has a wealth of fitness industry experience. Laura has an English Degree from Haverford College where she was a Division III collegiate soccer player, two-time captain, and former gymnast and nationally ranked acro-gymnast. She also a former USSF (United States Soccer Federation) D-level certified soccer coach and have coached youth-level and collegiate teams!

My mission is to help empower people to take the best possible care of themselves, to expand their perception of what they can accomplish, and to feel those results both physically and mentally. The main thing that I have learned under the mentorship of my own trainer is that this empowerment requires knowledge, and the knowledge base that underlies strength and movement is infinite. Fitness is a practice through which people can learn endlessly—not only about technique, form and effectiveness, but about themselves—their fears, their limitations, their strengths and their capabilities. Through a healthy client-trainer relationship, people can grow well beyond their self-perceived potential, break through physical and mental barriers and gain confidence that will help them face challenges well beyond the gym.

This is a typical workout for me if I’m trying to hit everything in one day with some degree of intensity. Usually I alternate days between upper body and lower body, just to allow time to hit all the major muscles and special areas that I might be working on. But, if I’m having a busy few days and I know I’m going to miss a workout the next day, I’ll consolidate everything into a series of compound moves, starting with a 5-10 minute dynamic workout to get the heart rate up and the joints lubricated.
