#TeamTuesday – Amanda Brown

How well do you know the NAC Youth Programs staff? Each week we will be highlighting a different instructor, coordinator, or manager from the youth programs department to help you get to know our team!

Youth Programs Director Amanda Brown is first up in our #TeamTuesday posts. Amanda began her career at the NAC over eight years ago, starting out as a coach for the recreational gymnastics program. Through her determination and drive, Amanda was able to create opportunities to grow and expand her responsibilities. With increased experience and skills Amanda earned various leadership positions, including overseeing the gymnastics program, becoming head party host, and eventually becoming the director of Camp NAC. Earlier this year, Amanda was invited to take on the role as youth programs director. In just a few months, Amanda has already been hard at work to both improve and grow the existing youth programs at the NAC.

1. What is your favorite part about your job?

I love my job because I get to work with kids every single day. Whether I am jumping in to help out in a gymnastics class, spending time with campers during the summer, or just walking through the hallway and see someone I know from around the club, it is always great to make a positive impact on a child’s day.

2. What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is ice cream. If I had to pick one flavor it would be mint chocolate chip.

3. What is your favorite game?

I love playing the game Catch Phrase!

4. What is your favorite song?

Country music is my favorite! I love listening to anything country; I can’t pick just one favorite song.

5. If you could go back in time, who would you want to spend a day with?

I would want to spend a day with Helen Keller. She is truly inspirational in all that she accomplished throughout her life.

6. What was your favorite movie growing up?

My favorite movie as a kid was The Sandlot.

7. What is your proudest accomplishment?

Becoming the youth programs director was definitely my proudest accomplishment in my professional life. It is really amazing to see how far I’ve come since I first started working at the NAC. I can’t wait to see what I can accomplish in this role.
