Fit Tip Friday — Last weekend was a busy one for our Trainers & Group Exercise Instructors at the Newtown Athletic Club. We held 3 trainings here – Parisi Certification, Schwinn Spin Bikes Certification, and Cardio Sport. We reached out to some of our staff that participated to ask them what Fit Tips that they learned! Here is what they had to say:
Parisi – “A big thank you to Steve Leo and Casey Lee for taking the time to make our Parisi Speed School coaches better this weekend! Our great product will now be even better and we are excited to continue to watch our athletes improve.”
NAC Parisi Trainer, Sean Hall was excited about learning the following:
1. Top speed running mechanics were covered. Our coaches are much more comfortable teaching this now and with the space at the NSTC we will be able to work more on top speed.
2. New drill work for our existing classes was covered so we will have fresh drills
3. New methods to make the strength classes more structured and improved

! “Recently, the NAC upgraded their spin bikes, and Schwinn master trainer Gregg Cook was on hand to teach spin instructors from the Philadelphia area how to use their new Schwinn AC Performance Plus spin bikes. Over 25 instructors were in attendance, and they were treated to a tough class as part of the demonstration.”
Group Ex Instructor, Mariyln Mongiello says: “Each new bike comes with a console which gives personal quantitative information about ones ride. ( watts, rpm, hr, calories, mph, stage time….) Additionally, one can use a flash drive to record the data. I love the fact that the NAC is always at the leading edge of technology and we are so lucky to benefit from this!!!”
Cardio Sport – NAC Technogym Manager says: Cardio Sport is the most comprehensive group fitness experience on the market today. It’s designed to give a total body conditioning workout that integrates traditional interval training techniques with customized compound work outs that are sports related movements. The best part about this program is that people from 13 all the way to 70 years of age can participate in the program. The class works off or inclusiveness, to make people feel like they can stick with the class and improve. This helps make everyone feel like everyone else.
Bonus: They stayed an extra day so Fox 29 Philly could do a segment on it! (Pictured Below)
