#TeamTuesday – Alyssa King

How well do you know the NAC Youth Programs staff? Each week we will be highlighting a different instructor, coordinator, or manager from the youth programs department to help you get to know our team! Want to nominate your favorite youth programs instructor? Fill out the form below!

The youth programs #TeamTuesday team member of the week is Alyssa. A few years ago, her first job at the NAC was as a pool attendant outside at Escape. Then, just this summer, Alyssa earned an internship at the NAC, where she learned so much about the youth programs here at the NAC. As her first internship ever, it was truly such a great experience. Currently, she is a Kidfit Instructor, teaching Sports of All Sorts, Active Artists, Music & Movement, Fun Fitness, and Sportfinity classes. Alyssa feels this is such a rewarding job and her favorite job that she has had so far! She loves working with children, and works her hardest to make sure that her classes are the best that they can possibly be!

Get to know Alyssa!

1. What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job at the NAC is getting to meet amazing people. I love interacting with the kids I teach, their parents, and other instructors! It’s so great to hear from the kids I teach and their parents that they are loving my class! It’s also great seeing how excited the kids are to be in my class each week!

2. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would go to St Lucia. I love traveling to tropical places, and whenever I see St Lucia on TV, or on the computer, it looks so beautiful. My perfect vacation includes good company, warm weather, a clear blue ocean, and good food.

3. As a child, what was your dream job?

Growing up, my dream job was to become a teacher. I always used to play “school” with my friends. I remember one Christmas my mom got me a “school” play set, and my friends and I would take turns pretending to be the teacher and the students for hours.

4. If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?

If I could have one superpower I think that it would be to fly. I think that it would be so cool fly above beautiful places!

5. If you could time travel, would you go to the past or the future? Why?

If I could time travel I would definitely go back in time. I would not want to go to the future because I like surprises and not knowing what is coming next! It’s hard to pinpoint one specific time that I would like to go back to in the past, but I think I would probably go back to a family Christmas party. It would be so cool to see all of my family members look so young…I would love to see my little cousins as babies again!

6. What is your proudest accomplishment?

My proudest accomplishment would probably have to be graduating high school on the high honors list. It was a proud moment for me because all of my hard work throughout my high school years payed off!

7. What is the best concert you have ever been to?

The best concert that I ever went to was a Billy Joel and Elton John concert at Lincoln Financial Field. It was the first concert that I ever went to and I had so much fun with my mom, dad, brother, aunt, and cousin.
