EFFORT REWARDED

WEARABLE HEART RATE MONITORS

Myzone is an innovative heart rate based system that uses wireless and cloud technology to accurately and conveniently monitor physical activity.

With a focus on rewarding effort rather than fitness, Myzone monitors heart rate, calories, time and Myzone Effort Points (MEPs). Myzone users report a significant increase in motivation based on the instant and ongoing feedback the wearable provides.

This is all done through a heart rate monitoring chest strap wearable. When you enter your age during the registration process, Myzone automatically calculates your Max Heart Rate, as it is used to determine your heart rate zones while working out. According to the Mayo Clinic, MHR is “the upper limit of what your cardiovascular system can handle during physical activity.”

Each MZ-1 belt costs $45.

The Myzone zones (gray, blue, green, yellow and red) are directly tied to your estimated Max Heart Rate (MHR) in the Myzone system.

Here’s a breakdown:

  • GRAY Zone: 50-59% of MHR
  • BLUE Zone: 60-69% of MHR
  • GREEN Zone: 70-79% of MHR
  • YELLOW Zone: 80-89% of MHR
  • RED Zone: 90-100% of MHR

Zone Guide

As you can imagine, an incorrect value for MHR will impact which zone you are in during your workouts.

It is not required to have a belt in order to complete the Six Zone workout, but it does enhance your experience tremendously.

Each exercise within Six Zone has a zone “color” goal. Six Zone coaches encourage each user to reach the color goal to achieve maximum performance.

There will be an average of 15 minutes spent in the Blue/Green zones, promoting strength building and an average of 20 minutes spent in the Yellow/Red zones (primarily yellow) which will be HIIT training that will promote EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption). We do not encourage members into the Red Zone too often because it is not good to workout in the “Red” for long. It can lead to over-training, dehydration or injuries.

MEPs is an acronym for MYZONE Effort Points, and it’s the metric by which everything is measured in the fitness tracking system. MEPs are earned by exercising in your target heart rate zones over a period of time. The more effort you put into each of your workouts, the more MEPs you earn.

The World Health Organization suggests earning 1300 MEPs per month.

About Myzone

Myzone dedicated screens are displayed throughout The Club. The screens display a live feed of all Myzone users in range, allowing users to track their heart rate and effort in real time. Users able to identify which “tile” is theirs up on screen by a nickname that they’ve chosen.

This allows for increased motivation and challenge during the course of a workout. Each personal trainer utilizes Myzone to monitor training sessions to reach max intensity and appropriate recovery, as well as the effort of their client.

An introductory Myzone challenge is offered to each new, adult member. When this 90-day challenge is successfully completed, the belt can be kept at no cost ($45).

Included in membership and open to the community.
