Facility Technician: Responsible for promptly and safely maintaining all building assets with a large emphasis on the repair and preventative maintenance of fitness equipment and building upkeep. Additional duties may include maintenance of electrical components, audio/video systems, monitoring and operating pools, basic plumbing and overall general building maintenance tasks.

Seasonal Camp Swim Instructor 

  • Teach children how to swim in our indoor pool after their camp day is complete. All staff must be available June 19th – August 11th Monday thru Friday, from 2:45pm – 4:45pm. Please email amandabrown@newtownathletic.com if you meet the eligibility requirements and would like to set up an interview. Must enjoy working with children.

Swim Lessons Instructor

  • Private and group swim instructors needed
  • Teach/co-teach a 6-8 week swim lesson class for ages 6+ including but not limited to basic swimming skills and techniques
  • Follow NAC youth program/Aquatics procedures

Weekend Lifeguard: This position is for a Lifeguard for the parties department at the Newtown Athletic Club. This is for weekends only. Must have Red Cross or E&A ILTP Certification – either already certified or will train. *Must be at least 15 years old*

Requirements and Expectations:

  • Must be already certified or be able to pass the Red Cross Lifeguarding or Jeff Ellis & Associates ILTP class and maintain skills to be employed.
  • Must be able to prevent injuries through enforcing rules, be vigilant while guarding, and keep the pool areas safe and clear of debris.
  • Must have strong customer service skills and able to build rapport with members.
  • Must maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays – Daily work hours are subject to change throughout the Escape Pool season.
  • Must be a team player and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs and stand for long periods of time.

Parties Host: Help make a child’s birthday special by being a host at their NAC birthday party! Interact with the party guests, lead activities, help ensure that everything goes smoothly and that everyone is having a fun time! Gymnastics Instructor (Part-time)

Function: Teaches a variety of classes in the Gymnastics Department in a positive, safe, educational and fun environment.
Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge in at least one of the following areas: Gymnastics, Tumbling, and Parkour.
  • Willingness to learn additional areas in the Gymnastics Department.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach the development of skills and proper techniques in area of specialty.
  • Ability to lift equipment and to spot children.
  • Ability to motivate and effectively communicate with members, parents and students.
  • Exercises mature judgment and sound decision-making.
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must have 3 years or more of gymnastics experience.
  • Provide gymnastics instruction for children ages 1-12 in a recreational setting.

Parkour Instructor (Part-time)
The Newtown Athletic Club is currently looking to hire an aspiring Parkour instructor to expand our youth programming. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, responsible, hardworking, have good communication skills and enjoy working with Children aged 6-15. The hours for this position are afternoons and evenings.
Qualifications:
  • Possess a practical and technical knowledge of creative movement and gymnastics.
  • Preferred candidate will be a positive role model for youth and can work in a fast-paced setting.
  • Understanding of basic fitness, health and exercise, and Parkour.
  • Strengths in organization, cleanliness and communication.
  • Ability to handle family members in a positive manner and handle difficult individuals with a positive, non-confrontational style. Ability to communicate effectively with NAC members, managers and other employees.
  • Ability to safely manage children, which may require catching or spotting children.
  • Willingness and ability to help the company build a reputation of high quality in your areas of responsibility. Able to adjust to changing situations.
What you will do: At this gymnastics club, you will create an exciting environment for boys and girls to push their limits in Parkour drills. You must provide thorough instructions to the students as well as maintain safety and risk management while following weekly lesson plans. You will follow drills for each class rotation you are scheduled for, setup prior to class, and manage the students during their 55 minute class

Irish Dance Instructor (part-time): The Academy of Dance at the NAC is seeking a dance instructor with experience teaching Irish dance. Experience teaching children is preferred. FITfinity Instructor (part-time): Fitfinity instructors are responsible for facilitating weekly classes geared towards athletes with special needs. Classes emphasize the development of social skills, self confidence, coordination, and athleticism through a variety of fun and structured activities.  Enthusiastic instructors with a background and/or experience working with special needs children preferred. Kid’s Club Ambassador: Looking for someone to work in the Kid’s Club Childcare Center. Must have previous experience working with children. Kids Fitness Instructor (part-time): KidFit instructors are responsible for facilitating weekly classes that encourage healthy living and active lifestyles for children. Camp NAC Administrative Assistant: We are looking for an administrative assistant to perform a variety of clerical tasks including:

  • Answering phones, assisting throughout the camp office, preparing reports, sending emails, etc.

Requirements and Expectations:Lifechangers are instrumental to assisting members maintaining the cleanliness of the outdoor environment of the Escape Pool Complex at the Newtown Athletic Club. Lifechangers should be able to float throughout the complex and perform duties such as wiping tables, bussing, dishwashing, laundry, maintain water stations, emptying trash, help maintain bathroom cleanliness, and general cleanliness of the complex.
